Pakistan and Lebanon open a new chapter of defense cooperation
Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Rudolf Haykal visited General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The two military leaders held detailed discussions on bilateral defense cooperation and the prevailing security situation in the region.
According to ISPR, the meeting covered mutual military relations, training cooperation, and avenues for expanding professional ties. Both sides expressed their desire to continue collaboration in areas of shared interest.
Field Marshal Asim Munir stated that Pakistan greatly values its longstanding and warm relations with Lebanon, and that strengthening the defense partnership with the Lebanese Armed Forces remains a priority for Pakistan Army. General Haykal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan Army and acknowledged its role in international peacekeeping missions.
ISPR described the visit as a reflection of the shared commitment between the two armed forces to advance bilateral cooperation. The meeting took place at a time when the regional security landscape continues to demand attention on multiple fronts.
